Built In Illinois. Shipped Everywhere.
American-made powder coating ovens, curing ovens, and spray booths — designed, built, and shipped by hand from our shop in Morrisonville, Illinois.
Built Out Of Necessity
Light Armor Ovens started the way a lot of good tools do — out of necessity. Founder Gordon Moore needed to powder coat metal parts for another business, but the only option was shipping them to a shop an hour away, where small batches took weeks to come back and only ever in black or white. So in 2017, he built his own oven instead — a DIY prototype meant to bring that work in-house.
When that first business didn't turn enough profit to become a full-time gig, Gordon listed the prototype oven online to help cover some credit card debt. In an oven market with few good options, it sold within days. That was the spark: if one oven could sell that fast, there was room to build more. He began taking orders in 2018 — and the rest is history.
Today, Light Armor builds a full line of made-to-order powder coating ovens, curing ovens, and spray booths — all by hand in our shop in Morrisonville, Illinois.
