In-Stock and Loaded LA2500B Oven (2' x 2' x 5')

I received the oven quickly, and it was packaged very well there was no damage. Setup was a breeze. I have started using the oven for cerakote it is also handy for drying parts after am ultrasonic cleaning. I am very pleased with the quality of heats up quickly and is well insulate. The outside of the cabinet stays relativly cool to the touch when I upgrade to a two oven operation I will choose another Lightarmor.

Very impressed with heat up times, if anyone used the coating oven Brownells use to sell you know the old dinosaur took forever to heat up and lost a pile of heat anytime the door got opened, was also impressed with build quality so much I got the spray booth as well

Great company, excellent customer service! We called them to see about buying the oven and picking it up the same day! That absolutely accommodated us to make it happen. As for the oven itself, I would only make one small change, instead of hex head screws, maybe use round torx heads or something similar! That would give it a more smooth finish.

Quick delivery and great quality! The unit was ready to go as soon as I installed the included receptacle. Quick heat up time and also has rockwool insulation option so it holds the heat well!

Arrived quickly, got it set up and running in no time. Baking out parts and loving it!

Very pleased with my new oven! I am impressed with the lead time and the quality of it. I ordered it on April 28th, and it was delivered on May 8th! I was able to run my first batch of parts last night, and it heated up quick and seemed to hold steady temps for the entire cure cycle. I also opted for the free freight prep, and it arrived in perfect condition! This will be a perfect addition to our shop for our small FFL to get into the cerakote market. At Tech Assault Firearms are loving the new light armor oven. Plenty of space, warms fast and holds the curing temp nicely. Love the timer and ease of use. Man, talk about a smooth process! Ordering, advice on options, follow-up to check=ins, everything truly perfect across the board! Oven arrived quickly and in overall good shape (I went cheap on the packing and got a dent on the top edge - easily hammered out and not a big deal for me). Got everything situated and the fit in my space is perfect. Quality all around - I couldn't be happier!

LA2500B Powder Coat / Cerakote Oven (2' x 2' x 5') – Long-Term Review

I wanted to give this oven a proper shake-down before reviewing. After regular use since Nov 2023, I can say this is one of the best ovens in its class—especially for the price.

Shipping was smooth. I chose the standard cardboard wrap and plastic, which was thorough and effective. The wooden crate would’ve been overkill in my opinion, and a place you can save money.

Out of the box, the fit and finish was decent, but I expected to make upgrades. The standard insulation was replaced with a layered combo: ceramic fiber on the interior and Rockwool on the exterior. It now heats quickly, holds temperature incredibly well, and the outside stays cool to the touch. I also swapped the silicone door seal for Nomex, which improved both sealing and appearance—especially since the stock fasteners created gaps where heat could escape.

Several screws were either loose or missing, so I replaced them all with rivets, making the unit feel more solid and heat-cycle resistant.

The stock rack system didn’t meet my needs, so I installed strut channel and restaurant-grade racks for a multi-tier, removable setup. It massively improved how I use the interior space.

Wiring was functional, but I cleaned it up for better organization and added a switch to run the fan independently from the heat element. Now I can load parts without blasting out hot air, which shortens recovery time significantly.

I also rebuilt the insulated base using 2x6s instead of the factory wood, which felt too lightweight. The included casters are solid and make it easy to reposition.

I opted for the upgraded heating elements and blower, which I highly recommend. Purchased custom-length extension cable, saving money and reducing clutter.

Overall: zero regrets. This oven has been a reliable workhorse for both powder coat and Cerakote. I’d buy it again without hesitation. Great support, smart evolution, and unbeatable value.

Love this oven so far! Quick heat up and much larger then the previous one I had.
Build thick. Outside gets warm to touch but not as hot as I thought it would.
We did the Plug and Play option which was great. Even came with a socket to make sure we had the correct plug.
Shipping took longer then expected, due to one carrier but that doesnt reflect on the oven its self. I would order another for sure!

Oven is great. We use it for Cerakote. We got the insulation upgrade and insulated floor. Upgrade heat element and plug n play wiring. Only thing I wish was that yall offered some kind of dual oven. We only have room for one oven but with Cerakote we cure at 2 temps for metal and others. It would be great to have one oven with 2 sections that could be set to 2 different temps.

I was debating about upgrading my equipment for awhile. I decided to hold off as it was a big purchase for me but I got a follow up email from Gordon. He was extremely helpful and knowledgeable and helped ease my worries. Oven arrived on time and extremely quick. Got the new plug installed and the oven works flawlessly. Can’t say how happy I am with this oven and the customer service from Gordon.

My dad has been painting custom motorcycles for years, so when I decided to start a small Cerakote business, it was a natural choice to involve him. Having conned… er convinced him to come onboard, I ordered the LA2500B oven and upgraded almost everything. The freight company delivered it into his garage on a pallet. We expected to have to move ourselves, but they dropped it right inside the garage. At his advanced years, he was very happy that he didn’t need to throw out his back or blow out a knee moving it!
We used the standard freight prep and were delighted that it arrived in perfect condition. There were no instructions for the wheel kit but easily found that there were holes already located with the correct hardware so that the wheels attached easily. I will say they roll so easily that you can turn the oven into a weapon of destruction, so be careful when you push it. Very little effort is required to “send it” As a bonus if unlocked, it can be used to find low spots on a concrete floor… it rolls that smoothly. As others have said, with the upgraded heating coil, this thing heats up quickly. We love that feature. We opted to do the wiring ourselves, but that was easy. He already had a 220 volt outlet in the garage for welders, his compressor etc. So, if you are comfortable with D.I.Y. wiring, it is a cake-walk. If not, you might want to befriend an electrician now, then have them help when your oven arrives.
The controller is easy to use, and even the first time we turned it on, we clicked our way through it and figured it out. You can find instructions on the web-site, but what man reads instructions anyway? One thing we would like to see is being able to slide shelves into it like a regular oven. That would allow flexibility to hang additional parts, or to set stuff in the oven for curing.
Overall, this is a great product, doing a great job for us. If we grow the business bigger, we will order again.

I ordered the LA2500B shortly after adding cerakote to my gunsmithing shop. I needed something to fit barreled actions in. This is more than big enough for the volume that I do. When I start doing more this is definitely at a price point that I'll just add another, or a larger model. I selected the element upgrade and when I first fired it up it was around 30º and it was up to 250º in 13 minutes. I opted for the DIY wiring and not knowing what to expect (I didnt ask either) got wire and dryer plug from home depot. It does come with a female 4 prong generator plug on the control box. So I removed that and wired on my own cord and plug. One thing I would do differently though when buying again though is to not get the hanging system installed. I believe it was an additional $150 for a couple short pieces of angle iron and bolts. I think next time I would however get the insulated bottom, mine is on concrete so it doesn't matter much but if on a wooden floor could be an issue. Overall I'm happy with it and would buy again. Also keep an eye on tracking if shipped with R+L Carriers, They did not contact me to setup a delivery appointment.

I bought this oven when starting my cerakoting business. I have to say this is one of the best choices I've made thus far on equipment. The price is right for this oven and it functions like a champ.

This is a well built and very cost effective oven and it was a pleasure doing business with light armor! this is the second unit we purchased from them and we couldn't be happier, we use it to cure waterborne paint and thus required a vent be added and they were super easy to deal with on our custom items. we did have an issue with the new controller's LCD overheating but the customer service has been great and the are sending a new controller with a heat guard free of charge 10/10 all around!

This is a well built and thought-out unit. I have run serval cycles through this unit with no problems. It comes up to temperature very quickly. It also holds its temperature very well. It was a painless experience dealing with light Armour with it came to ordering and taking delivery of my oven. I always received response via email or text in a timely fashion. I had the pleasure of picking my oven up at the shop. They have a nice facility. and a friendly atmosphere. Plus, it saved me a nice chunk of money to drive there and pick it up. if there was one thing, All I see that could improve this oven, is it be an option to put a shelf in the oven. Being I don't hang tumblers for cerakote it would be handy to have it built in. all in all a great product and when I need a second oven, I will be coming back to this web page.

I ordered the LA2500B for Cerakoting, and I have yet to be disappointed. The oven came packaged great and no signs of any visible damage. Controls are easy to use and understand. This oven is the perfect size for my small business fits nicely in the little corner of my shop. Heats quickly and holds temperature as it should.
Just wish I would have got the built in hanger system.

Just got my 2500b in and I’m very pleased with how the process went, it went very smoothly. The build quality is sturdy! I’ll be using it for my cerakote business! Will definitely purchase another one when business gets good!

This is an awesome oven with tremendous build quality. I use for mine for my Cerakote shop. Highly recommend getting the heat upgrade, blower and roof rack. I hang headers, intake manifolds, heavy barreled actions with ease. The temperature gets up to temp quick and stays there. Mine has almost zero heat leakage. My power bill is barely different. With the blower all items you cerakote have equal temperature. Fantastic oven for the price.

Oven works great. Easy to use. Very good instructions on use. Wish I would have done a viewing window upgrade. No problems works great.

Im a small size firearm and car parts refinishing company. After struggling for years with larger items i finally decided to pull the trigger on this and all i can say is i wish i had done this years ago. Took 10 minutes to wire up the plug and i was up and running. I got the upgraded element and it gets to temperature and holds it very consistent. The timer and temperature is very easy to set up and use and make this a very simple piece of shop equipment that does everything right.

I just wanted to thank you for a great quality product. I have my own shop where I bring dead cars back to life. Having access to a great sized powder coating oven makes life so easy. We have had our Light Armor over for close to two years. It has been a great purchase for our application. We don’t powder coat. We use it to bake urethane coating out of large aluminum tooling nests. The nests are very heavy and the team is not gentle getting them in and out of the oven. The oven takes the abuse like a champion. It is very very well built. It’s amazing to see the number of bolts used to hold it together. It heats up quickly and holds temperature to +/- a degree or two all the time. It’s also very simple to use and incredibly simple to maintain or repair if anything were to go wrong although nothing has gone wrong yet. This is a very competitively priced oven that’s well built. The oven its self works great. the quality of the build it self is not good. There are tons of exposed sharp edges and and gaps in the metal. Several of the bolts holding the sheet metal on are not screwed in all the way or missing. The hinge on the door starts at the top and stop just a little over half way down the door causing heat loss at the bottom of the door. This oven could be amazing if a little come Quality control would be used . During the unpacking I received a cut that probably should have had stiches.

The controller took some learning but overall this oven has been great. Works perfect for Cerakote and powder coating. Would highly recommend the blower fan upgrade. Lead times were pretty long in height of pandemic but well worth the wait.

I use my oven for curing carbon fiber composite parts (epoxy being the binder) instead of using the oven for powder coating. What I needed is programmable temperatures raised at prescribed rates within a tolerable low hysteresis. This oven does that, as measured to -1/+3°F accuracy. The ramp-and-hold features work as intended, but be sure to read the controller manual to understand the programming conventions. And once I get actual powder coating application equipment, well, then I'll ready for that too. If I really had to nit, there was one fastener that didn't get inserted correctly... ohhhh noooo a solitary fastener... LOOK the oven still works awesome so who cares.
